Secret Unlisted Rooms For The Haute Monde we all know luxury hotels to be ones of extreme glamour and tasteful extravagance – they’re the ultimate stops for vacationers and honeymooners from all around the world. They’re known for their excellent service, their specialized cuisines, their luxurious infinity pools and some other features carefully designed to make your stay all the more enjoyable.
Recently, however, elite luxury hotels have adopted a whole new brand of exclusivity – there are now suites so exclusive that you can’t even find them listed. They are top-secret, available only to their top guests; only those that know of them, know.
Let’s take a closer look at these not-so-well-kept secrets:
The Blue Lagoon Retreat
The Blue Lagoon retreat is a European luxury spot, tucked into the rugged landscape just outside Reykjavik, Iceland. Although it has only been open for some four months, the retreat has become a top pick for travelers from all over the world. Its famous large windows allow guests to adequately soak in the beauty that surrounds the resort, and the superior spa treatments are perfect for relaxing and unwinding. While these are fine examples of the many excellent facilities the retreat has to offer, there is in fact one secret it’s keeping under wraps – an exclusive luxury suite.
Yes, the retreat has a super-exclusive, $10,500 per night suite which is a whopping 2,100 square feet with two floors, almost triple the size of a typical suite at the retreat.
Along with all the typical features you’d expect from a lavish suite, such as a private balcony, a walk-in closet, a luxury bathroom, and an attached kitchen, this marvelous room also comes equipped with a steam bath, its private spa and sauna, a fireplace and a private bathing area within the lagoon. You won’t find this room listed on the website – no photographs, descriptions or mentions. It’s reserved for VIPs only.
More Top-Secret Suites
The Blue Lagoon Retreat is far from being the only ultra-exclusive, top-secret suite. Some elite luxury hotels have similar facilities that are also unlisted, available only to VIPs and special guests. It has become a subtle trend across the world for highly exclusive hotels to have secret suites or residences.
For example, the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas has some penthouses that are unlisted altogether. They are reserved quite exclusively for big spenders.
Some hotels may be more open about their exclusive suites – as in, they may list them, however, they don’t compromise on exclusivity all the same. These rooms are simply unavailable to the general public, and can only be availed by high-paying guests and VIPs. It may seem counterproductive for hotels to keep their most lavish, expensive rooms mostly unavailable, but they have a good enough reason for it. Keeping these rooms reserved for the elite, high spenders protects the hotel’s investment – these suites often contain valuable facilities or priceless art. If a hotel rented such a suite out to, say, 10 college students each pitching in a certain amount, then it is at high risk of being damaged. Thus, these rooms are ideally reserved only for high paying, regular guests.
Similarly, some high-tier hotels have their services abruptly requested by celebrities or VIPs. A reputed luxury hotel would prefer not to refuse a celebrity their services, and so they have special exclusive, reserved rooms in case such a situation arises.
When looking for a lavish stay, don’t limit your options to simply what is listed on a website. If your goal is to avail the most exclusive facilities from luxury hotels, have your travel agent go the extra mile and look into exclusive suites and accommodations.
