Singapore’s Most Expensive Cocktail, Jewel of Pangaea

Singapore’s Most Expensive Cocktail, Jewel of Pangaea when one talks about the luxuries and the splendid grandeur of lavish lifestyles, we instinctively might think of high-end brands, expensive trips to exotic islands or perhaps the comfort of traveling in a spacious yacht with topnotch amenities. However, the world of expensive luxuries doesn’t quite end there. Yes, we’re talking about the most expensive drink in Asia, the $24,400 Jewel of Pangaea.

Bars and cocktails have been continuously on the rise in terms of popularity amongst the elites, with a never-ending line of exotic innovative drinks in all those stunning fancy hotels and nightclubs. With the majority of cocktails ranging from about $20 to $50, what could be in a drink for it to have such a heavy price tag attached to it? Well, it’s not just about what’s in it. It’s more about the drink’s symbolic importance to Pangaea, enriching its culture in the vibrant array of flavors.

Launched at the Singapore luxury club, the tropical drink was the most expensive cocktail of Asia in 2012. The combination of experiencing the blissful ecstasy of the nightclub with tasting the rich flavor of the Pangaea drink was truly something euphoric. The stunning presentation, extravagant ingredients and the story it holds are what makes the Jewel of Pangaea so endearingly special.

The award-winning master mixologist, Ethan Leslie Leong was behind the creation of this iconic drink, elevating our experiences and the way we drink.

No one can deny feeling a sense of freedom while tasting his creations and not only because they’re one of the most expensive ones in the world, but because they feel entirely different. You know they’re special. The way he captures the beauty and art while maintaining the standard in taste is his specialty and it’s no surprise that he’s gained a lot of respect for his endless dedication towards his creations. It doesn’t only feel like drinking something out of a cup, instead, it is said to feel like you’re tasting the true authentic spirit of Pangaea.

Crafted using high-end quality ingredients only, the cocktail is crowned with a one-carat diamond from the Swiss jeweler Mouawad, gradually absorbing into the drink. Additionally, the rest of it is made from a mixture of brown sugar, the signature gold cognac and a 1985 classic Krug Champagne.

Buying a $24,000 drink is not something of the ordinary you might experience every day. Reportedly, whenever it would be ordered, all attention would divert towards the recipient of the cocktail of spectacular opulence.

Despite the lavish facilities of the club, the enthralling sensation of a luxurious experience would be felt through the drink alone. Leslie’s main focus lay in creating an upscale version of exotic cocktails, something divine in taste yet unique of its type. So is the drink is worth the heavy price or not? Well according to Michael Anult, the price paid definitely promises an exhilarating one-of-a-kind experience and we might just take his word for it.
