The town has a population of 14.000 inhabitants, which during the summer month can be a lot higher because Cefalu is a popular tourist destination.
The cathedral dominates the main square. A postcard type of cathedral outdoor, but you should visit the indoor to discover stunning Byzantine mosaics. The brown signs will lead you to hike up to another temple, the Tempio di Diana, a Roman Temple built sometime around the 4th century BC, dedicated to the goddess Diana. If you want to enjoy the amazing sights of the town and even the temple you should go to the mountaintop of La Rocca. The mountaintop towers, once the site of a Norman Castle will provide you magnificent and picturesque views of the surrounding area.
