A small village situated in the north of Portugal will amaze you with its beautiful landscapes and you will become aware of the people connecting with nature. Sistelo is known as the Portuguese Tibet because of its dazzling natural landscapes. This characteristic landscape-land in terraces – the farmers shape them by themselves to increase the available space for their crops.
The village and the people are in perfect harmony with nature. A farmer’s village, the people here live with the land and from the land. Traditionally as their ancestors did, they turn corn into flour in the mills that run along the river.
The village itself has one restaurant and one small church and famous “Brandas de Sistelo”, an 11 km long trail for hiking where you can enjoy the most amazing views and the breathtaking landscapes.
