France- The Lighthouse and the Medieval Castle
France, the country of romance, beautiful destinations and so much more…we don’t have to describe. Amongst the tourist destinations, some remain hidden from the world…
L’ile Louet Carantec Morlaix Brittany France
The small island hides the treasure of its own. The biggest attraction is the Lighthouse that can be rented. It dates back to 1857 and it is still operational so for safety reasons it is not accessible. You can be a lighthouse keeper for a few nights and enjoy late nights in the light of the lighthouse. Waking up with the sun and explore the rocky cliffs and amazing sights around.
Foix Ariege France
The Foix Castle from atop its impressive mountain dominates the town and like a safeguard watches and protects the town as many years ago. The placement of the castle was strategically chosen because it dates from the era of insecurity, banditry, and territorial rivalries.
Emporium for you: Best Hidden Gems in Europe
The town is a lovely place with narrow streets to stroll around shopping lanes and pretty squares with café terraces where you can feel as being in medieval France. Saint-Volusien abbey church is a place worth to visit with its beautiful 17th century carved stalls as well as Baltard-style Halle aux Grains, a covered marketplace.
The town organizes its annual celebrations on the first weekend of September with a funfair, dancing, torchlight procession and great entertainment is guaranteed.
