Italian cuisine is one of the most famous cuisines in the world. Yet, Italian cuisine differs from region to region and every area has a unique way of preparing some dishes. However, the magic of Italian cuisine is more in producing and less in the ingredients. Pizza- the best is Margherita, originating from Naples. In the local pizzeria, you will be served with a crispy, thin-crust pizza topped with olive oil, garlic, basil, tomatoes, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
Arancini, a less-known Italian dish which consists of stuffed rice balls. Usually filled with ragu, tomato sauce, mozzarella, and peas, the balls are fried after being coated in a dusting of crunchy breadcrumbs. The preparation varies from region to region.
Lasagne, also one favorite dish, it is believed to originate from the city of Naples is lasagne pasta layered with cheese, ground meat, vegetables and different variety of sauces, such as ragu, béchamel, and tomato sauce. One of the must-try to experience Italian cuisine.
Saltimbocca– thin slices of veal, topped with salty prosciutto and herb leaves. Joined together with a toothpick, sautéed in a pan until the meat is done, the meal provides mouthwatering delight, another on your list of must-try. Different varieties of meat such as chicken and mutton are used for preparing the saltimbocca.
And for the pastries, Torrone –made with ingredients such as honey, egg whites, toasted nuts and citrus zest, creamy and sticky, you can find it in cafes and candy stores throughout Italy.
Another very famous is definitely tiramisu. Light and creamy with ingredients such as ladyfingers, coffee, eggs, sugar, cocoa, and mascarpone cheese, this delight is made by traditional recipes. Modern adjustments offer different varieties such as fruit tiramisu, chocolate tiramisu, and a few more.
