As for all of us staying in the commodity of our own homes and waiting for the world reopening again, the things we think about are our memories of luxurious travels, watching a good movie, and enjoying the food and drinks that we prepare ourselves.

In lack of travel, the only way for us to indulge ourselves is to visit some countries and try some of the recipes they are famous for. And for those of us who are wine and Fromage lovers, we can visit France preparing ourselves a plate of French cheese and a glass of fabulous French wine.

France produces 1200 different types of cheese, providing for a nearly never-ending culinary exploration of cheese. 

As for your sojourn platter, we chose five different kinds of cheese, so you should taste every area of France. Cheese and wine, and you are ready to visit France.

Burgundy, a home to vineyards, partly represents the home for farming and cheese making.  Its wooded countryside produces Triple Crème, soft, buttery and rich cheese. An Allimant Laugner Alsace Cremant Rose from neighboring Champagne is a perfect match.

Normandie, an area where cows produce rich milk, creates Camembert, buttery cheese with a hint of wild mushroom, paired perfectly with a tart apple Clos Normand Cider.

Franche-Comte, a region at the Swiss border, is known for its raw milk Comte, cheese staple that is aged in the cool and humid caves of the Massif du Jura mountainsides. Paired artfully with a French Chablis, you could taste the notes of apricot, chocolate, and hazelnut.

FRENCH CHEESE

Pungent Epoisses is produced in Burgundy and the village in the Auxois plains. Smooth and creamy with a pungent aroma, it is a melt-in-your-mouth cheese gem. The perfect choice for this tasteful cheese is with a sweet La Chapelle Lafaurie-Peyraguey Sauterne.

For the lovers of blue-veined cheese, Saint Agur is made in Central France, in Auvergne, to be exact. Soft-ripened combines its strength of blue cheese with a mild creamy texture. A glass of La Chapelle Lafaurie-Peyraguey Sauterne emphasizes its tart pungency.

In the end, as an addition to full taste, your platter should contain crackers, olives gapes almonds, and a bit of honey. Springs of lavender and rosemary can also add to the flavor.
